About the Ancients of Light seriesChosen is the first in the thirteen books of the Ancients of Light series and is only the beginning of a young Witch s journey toward developing both the strength of character and magic that will be required to fulfill her prophesied role as leader of the Light faction Revelations of nuances in the Prophecy facets that were never fully comprehended by the Ancients will continue in successive stories The culmination of its true meaning in the destiny of the supernatural world of the Realm will only be revealed when Kaitriana is adequately prepared to lead the Warriors now being called together to champion the Light s purpose Familiar characters return for each storyline as the focus turns to a new key couple in every book a pair that significantly factors into the purpose of Light however, the story of the Chosen does not end with Book 1 Kaitriana and Lorcan, their growth together as partners in leadership and in love as a couple, will thread through the series as Kaitriana assumes the role that was destined as hers since the beginning.About the AuthorHeather Fleener lives in Indiana with her husband, D.A and their twins, Thomas and Alexandra Professionally she has spent her career working in the area of Intellectual Property law Reading has been a passion of hers since she was young and she has been a closet romance junkie her entire life The romantic styles of Judith McNaught and Julie Garwood are her inspiration, though she has read and loved the stories of countless other authors Her fascination with the paranormal began to form at the young age of six, watching late night ghost and vampire movies with her Grandpa Unfortunately, as a result, she also remains afraid of the dark to this day.Combining her love of epic romances and the supernatural was a natural progression for her overactive imagination When the idea for the Ancients of Light series began, it was an abstract story line rambling around in her head to help kill a few miles on the treadmill As the stories and plotlines continued to grow, it finally became necessary to put the words to paper and build the characters that had been living in the Realm and having conversations in her head for months The series is a testament to many miles on the treadmill and lots of characters that insist on having their stories told.

    1. 4.5 The first 17 chapters are set primarily in Chicago where you meet Ella, a non-practicing Fire Caste witch with a fiery personality and Nicholas (aka Cole), a dark vampire warrior. The storyline slows down a little in the middle of this first part as the romance heats up. This section reminded me a little bit of Pretty Woman minus the stripper. The following 30 chapters are mostly set in the Realm. Ella and Nicholas' story becomes intertwined with Lorcan and Kaitriana. This is where I had tro [...]

    2. This is the first review I have bothered to actually put some thought into so keep that in mind. These books have been AMAZING. This wonderful book covers deep romance, wicked battles, bad ass magic and a thick plot. First, I would like to say that I think one of the reasons we love this book, is the romance. Not only are the characters in love, but they are so passionate for each other that it captures you and you long for that type of relationship. I think all women would LOVE to be loved the [...]

    3. This book was part of a blog tour I received a copy for my honest reviewI am not going to recap the story because the synopsis does a great job of it, I am going to dive straight into my review. Ella sad past has made her stronger, yet she still has this sense of vulnerability about her. She gets stronger throughout the book and I liked how she began to grow into her own. Nicholas was an interesting character at first I saw him as the big bad man, but I was pleasantly surprised when I was shown [...]

    4. Wholly cow, I loved this book. It was such an enjoyable read with everything, fantasy, romance, action, intrigue, magic, witches and vampires and did I mention romance. This was more of an urban fantasy than book one, but I enjoyed Forsaken more than Chosen, but this whole series is going to be awesome. With each book you get a look into the lives of different characters, but they all tie in together and Kaitriana (the Chosen) is always at there as the Queen of Queens. Forsaken was fast paced wi [...]

    5. M disappointed with this book. Didn't like it much. I found Nicholas to be selfish and Ella to be weak. I was expecting some great magical action from Ella, she being a queen and all but there was hardly anything in the book. I started hating it from the point when the hero hid truth from the heroine and then accused her of betraying him and humiliated her in front of everyone. I was like when the hero knew he had not told her trivial facts then how was she supposed to know anything and on top o [...]

    6. Book provided by the author. As with Chosen, the first in the series, readers are pulled in to this magical world. The characters were brilliant, feisty Red and domineering Cole and I liked that we got to see Lorcan and Kat again. The plot was really imaginative, it hooks you from the beginning, I couldn't put it down. I think I have an idea who the next book will be about, I can see sparks flying already lol.A brilliant must read

    7. FORSAKEN took me totally by surprise. I read mostly YA and some NA books, but I try to steer clear of adult books because the graphic details of relationships between characters are not really my cup of tea. So I was a little shaken by the details of Cole and Ella’s first encounter. I quickly recovered from my frazzled state and kept reading. It was a great read once I got past being uncomfortable with certain details. It is a constant battle between Dark and Light with much romance mixed into [...]

    8. I loved every moment of this story, If you read the first one you really should read this one. This one opens your eyes up to the Darks of the realm. Unlike the first story that showed you the Lights It kinda like Team Light or Team Dark towards the middle close to the end, you don't know which side to choose. It was written really great!! The cover art is also great I think the cover really helps give you a shot at what Ella is all about and what she looks like. This is a Must Read. I couldn't p [...]

    9. Amazing!!! I loved Chosen so much and was so excited when I found out this book was being released in just a few days. Ella is an amazing heroine and Nicholas is a complex character as well. I generally don't go for the steamy romances, but the storylines were so captivating that I still loved this. I also loved that the story was about two different characters than the first book, but the story eventually tied into those characters and I got to see how Lorcan and Kat were doing. I can not wait [...]

    10. I read the first book in this series a short while ago and I couldn't wait to read this one.I absolutely love this book. Very well done and got me hooked from the very beginning and now I can't wait to read the next book in this series.I highly recommend both books .

    11. Fantastic. I enjoyed the new characters and love that we still got pieces of Kat and Lorcan. The romance and the story entwined perfectly.

    12. I'm not sure what to say about this book. I wasn't sure I wanted to continue the series after the first one (Chosen). I read Forsaken to see if it got better. It didn't, yet I'm going to continue. I really like Fleener's writing, but the stories in books 1 and 2 were how do I say it? I had to step away several times because I was getting so frustrated. First off, "Forsaken" is essentially "Chosen" in plot and purpose. The male leads are A-holes, that treat their soul-mates as submissives, like [...]

    13. I think Heather Fleener is an amazing author to have come up with this unique series! after reading this second book I am blown away the series in its intracity is like nothing I have ever read before, and even though the men tend to be a little too much on the dominate side it makes for an amazing story!Fire is her DestinyElla lives amoung the mortal world by choice. Having never fit in the Realm or with those of her own kind she has always felt on the outside. Ella's power of fire has always k [...]

    14. A gripping paranormal, mystery romance about a vampire and a witch who make a deal to work together no matter how different they are. But that will be easy considering that even though they are on different sides they have a strong connection towards each other one that leaves Ella wanting more than just a friendship. The book was so intense in every way the action, steamy parts. I love these type of books, the author did an amazing job with the characters, the way she described everything was f [...]

    15. Forsaken, is my favorite of the three. Cole/Nicholas is everything that a girl could want in her warrior vamp. Sexy, strong, sophisticated, a lover of good food, good wine, and not afraid to shop for killer presents for his "princess".The only drawback to Mr. Wonderful? He is an agent of the Dark, and as such is hell bent on taking down all Warriors of the Light.Ella, like Kat is a kick ass heroine of the light. She has a quick wit, awesome Fire powers, and a big heart. When she and Cole meet at a [...]

    16. Forsaken was my favorite book in the series. Ella was beautiful, amazing, talented, and so very life like that I had a hard time putting her story down. Nicholas showed so much more emotion than Jorcan did, and it was easy to relate to his view on life, magic, and the Realms. They are the perfect couple. Their broken pieces fit so well together that no one else could make them whole. But Nicholas has to go and screw it all up by not being completely honest. But some know that this is all just on [...]

    17. Heather pens "Forsaken", the second book in the 'Ancients of Light' series, in a plot that is filled with fantasy, vampires, witches, romance and magick. A fast paced book with characters that are well developed, strong and will keep your attention from beginning to end. I personally liked "Forsaken" much better than the first book "Chosen" and really can't wait for the next book to be released. Highly recommended for all romance, fantasy, magick fans. This review is based on a complimentary copy [...]

    18. Saturday, 1 November 2014ForsakenBook 2 of the Ancients of Light series was brilliant :-)At first I was a bit confused as I was expecting it from the same perspective as chosen but instead found the charming character of Ella, out of the realm and the politics that surrounds the lights and darks when she stumbles across 'Cole'I have to say at first I really didn't like Nicholas with his deception and withholding  from Ella certain truths. I very like his friend Dunirk and hope to see him happy [...]

    19. I live this series, it has some very steamy parts. Wow! It is well written in a way to grab you into the imagination that is Heather Fleener. She has very little grammar errors which I really appreciated, you do not see that to often so she must edit well and have an excellent Editor. The only thing that kinda rubbed me wrong is getting into character and then saying to myself "no way would a strong woman ever do that!!" the book just sucks you into the lives of the characters. I really enjoyed [...]

    20. Ella enchanted!Wow! This series just keeps getting better and better. Ella is a strong character and gives The Warrior of Dark a run for his money. Nicholas really has no idea how this woman is going to change his life. This book continues to set the stage for how the prophecy will unfold as this series progresses and the characters continue to evolve. I have laughed and cried while reading these books and look forward to see how their story ends.

    21. I fell in love with the characters and the Realm in Chosen, Book 1 of the Ancients of Light series. Book 2, Forsaken, is even better! Nicholas really carved out a place in my heart. I think Nicholas and Ella may remain my favorites, but I will continue reading the series to see if the author can create a couple I love even more :) I love this series!!

    22. RivetingThis was brilliantly written. I like how this book overlaps slightly with the first book yet does not repeat the same story it merely eludes to the similar events giving you a broader view of what is happening. The characters were very well developed and the storyline left nothing to be desired. I couldn't put the book down. I am now on to the third book.

    23. I'm addicted to this Series! Fantastic story that takes you in and doesn't let you go! Strong female Characters, Hot males characters ! Ella & Nicholas's story is amazing. You totally get into their story and their struggles! Can't wait for the next book in this series!

    24. Totally loved it, granted this has slight errors in the text like the other books from The ncients of Light series, but it's still an enjoyable ride. I absolutely adored Nicholas and Ella. Still hard to believe there are 9 more books left, but I plan to read them all.

    25. Seriously rapey. Ignoring a woman saying no until their body betrays them and is turned on is still rape. Way to perpetuate rape culture. I can't believe this has good reviews.
